Job summary

The Salvation Army in California seeks a Program Manager to lead all camp programs at Camp Redwood Glen and support youth programming across the Golden State Division. Qualifications

• CA Driver’s license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in leadership, recreation, youth development or related (required).
• Residential summer camp leadership experience may substitute for degree (5 years preferred).
• Training or education in camping, leadership, ministry, curriculum development, or safety management.
• Active Christian faith and commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission.
• Experience working with children, youth, or young adults in camp, school, or ministry settings.
• First Aid and CPR certification (within fourteen days of employment).
• Lifeguard certification
• NASP Certification
• CCM certification or Challenge Course level 1 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and evaluate summer camp programs.
• Create and deliver Christ-centered curriculum emphasizing growth through hands-on learning.
• Manage program operations, staff and camper schedules, and post-camp follow-up.
• Lead Outdoor Adventure Camp program, curriculum, staffing, and training systems.
• Oversee summer staff leadership, salary reviews, and budget preparation.
• Ensure ACA accreditation and safety, policy, and risk management standards.
