Job summary

The Salvation Army Camp Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations of summer camps (Performing Arts, Aquatics & STEM, Sports & Outdoor Adventure, or Adventure Camp) under the FYD Assistant Manager.

Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, recruiting and training, scheduling, curriculum implementation, and maintaining records, while ensuring safety and compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 21 years and 3 years of experience working with children.
  • 2-year degree/college preferred.
  • Experience supervising youth and adults.
  • TB test or chest x-ray with clear results and physical clearance to work.
  • Fingerprinted background checks completed successfully.
  • CPR certification and standard First Aid certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with attention to detail.
  • Proven reliability and ability to stay calm in emergencies.
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staff selection and performance evaluation.
  • Provide staff training and ongoing coaching on policies and procedures.
  • Oversee day-to-day schedule changes for staff and volunteers.
  • Lead instructors in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Ensure compliance with Summer Food Service Program policies and licensing.
  • Maintain program, employee, volunteer, and children’s records; submit reports.
  • Coordinate with parents/guardians regarding enrollment and operations.
  • Ensure health, safety, and emergency procedures are followed.
