Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Program Director to lead the summer camp program, oversee staff, and ensure the spiritual welfare of campers. This temporary full-time role reports to the Director of Program and requires strong leadership, safety awareness, and camp management experience.

Responsibilities include supervising adventure and activities staff, coordinating daily schedules, and participating in staff training and evening programs.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and ability to take a leadership role.
• 21+ years of age preferred.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (may be obtained on site).
• Experience and previous knowledge of camp activities.
• Ability to use positive behavior management techniques with campers and an ability to adapt to difficult situations with a sense of maturity and safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all adventure staff, activities staff, arts and crafts coordinator, and service crew leader.
• Oversee the whole summer camp program under supervision of the Director of Program and Camp Director.
• Ensure the spiritual welfare of campers and staff with the Program Team.
• Attend and participate in evening programs, campfires, and staff devotions.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in personal grooming and living quarters.
• Assist with camper check-in/check-out and camp-wide activities.
