Job summary

DEKRA North America’s Princeton Process Safety Laboratory in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Laboratory Engineer/ Scientist to design and conduct custom calorimetry tests for client processes. You will work closely with customers, analyze results, and help ensure safety and compliance across facilities.

The role requires a chemistry background, hands-on lab experience, and excellent communication skills while contributing to a safe, high‑performing lab team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or related field.
• 2+ years of work experience in a chemistry laboratory.
• Experience in laboratory calorimetry highly valued.
• Must understand good laboratory practices, laboratory equipment, and PPE usage.
• Laboratory work experience in related areas or pilot scale plant setting.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute custom thermal stability experiments interfacing with customers as necessary.
• Plan, set-up, and trouble shoot lab scale equipment.
• Independently conduct standard and non-standard testing on a daily basis.
• Manage, report and analyze data in a professional and standardized manner.
• Maintain test equipment, testing logs, and other related records.
• Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
