Job summary

DEKRA North America’s Princeton Process Safety Laboratory in Princeton, NJ seeks a Laboratory Engineer/ Scientist to design and execute custom calorimetry tests, work directly with clients, and report on combustibility and flammability properties. You will support process safety at client facilities and contribute to client-specific reports with safety data.

The role requires a chemical engineering/chemistry background, 2+ years in a chemistry lab, and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry or related field.
• 2+ years of work experience in a chemistry laboratory.
• Experience in laboratory calorimetry highly valued.
• Must understand good laboratory practices, laboratory equipment, and PPE usage.
• Laboratory work experience in related areas or pilot scale plant setting.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute custom thermal stability experiments interfacing with customers as necessary.
• Plan, set-up, and trouble shoot lab scale equipment
• Independently conduct standard and non‑standard testing on a daily basis
• Manage, report and analyze data in a professional and standardized manner
• Maintain test equipment, testing logs, and other related records
• Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by actively participating, taking responsibility, and following established procedures and policies.
