Job summary

Westmed Ambulance Services is seeking a dedicated Call Taker to join our Communications Center in California. You are the first voice patients hear, collecting details, prioritizing calls, and coordinating with hospitals and dispatchers to ensure rapid, accurate responses.

No EMS experience required, training provided. A high school diploma, good typing speed, and strong communication skills are essential. Weekend and some holiday shifts are required, with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; emergency communications training preferred.
  • Typing speed 35–45 words per minute.
  • Experience in dispatch, EMS, or call center is a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking in a high-stress environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and emergency procedures.
  • Clear, confident communicator who stays calm under pressure.
  • Team player with a service-minded attitude.
  • Willingness to work weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities
