Job summary

American Orthopedic Partners in New York seeks a Call Center Representative to handle patient calls, schedule appointments, verify insurances, and collect payments. The role is mainly based in Queens with potential travel to Manhattan or Brooklyn to support colleagues.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1–2 years in medical front desk roles, strong customer service, and EMR familiarity. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; driving is a bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 year experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to multi-task.
• Orthopedic specialty experience preferred.
• Ability to complete documentation promptly and accurately.
• Ability to use sound judgment; calm disposition and ability to work with others.
• Familiar with EMR/EHR platforms such as Criterions EMR.
• English/Spanish bilingual is a PLUS.
• Able to drive is a PLUS, not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients politely and professionally immediately upon arrival.
• Update patient records to ensure accurate information: contact information, insurance, medical history, etc.
• Patient registration and collection of co-insurance and co-payments.
• Relay important information regarding appointments, financials and follow-up to patients.
• Ask and record source of referral for all new patients.
• Comfortable with traveling throughout the five boroughs.
• Punctual with time.
• Maintain cleanliness of work space and waiting room area.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Annually

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Our call center representatives handle multiple phone calls using established scripts, protocols and service processes. They respond to each call in an efficient, effective, and professional manner.
• Patient Care Coordinators in our Orthopaedic Surgery practice perform duties that include but are not limited to: scheduling patient appointments, checking patients in, collecting payments, setting up appointments for MRIs, scanning, printing, verifying insurances, and maintaining patient records.
• This position will be mainly based in our Queens office, and may require travel to our Manhattan or Brooklyn offices as needed to back up other colleagues if they call out.
