Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our Stamford, CT area office. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handle calls with tact and confidentiality, and support clinicians by gathering information and routing inquiries.

As part of the team, you will update the EMR accurately, manage messages for providers, and contribute to a positive patient experience in a fast-paced medical office.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of medical experience preferred.
• HIPAA regulations and procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic medical systems (Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficient with Windows-based software.
• Professional and confidential in handling patient information.

Responsibilities

• Register all new patients and direct current patients via call center.
• Take and relay electronic messages to care providers.
• Screen and transfer calls to the appropriate department.
• Enter pending documents into patient EMR.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by managers.

Headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, the Spire network spans the Northeast with more than 165 physicians, 1,800 employees, 285 other clinical providers and 40 locations in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.What you’ll do:Responsibilities/Duties:Serves as initial point of contact through our call center to register all new patients and direct current patients - utilizing skills of tact, compassion, and confidentiality in a professional manner.Manage calls from patients requiring medical care and provide / gather information needed.Take electronic messages and convey information to respective medical care providers.Screen and transfer calls to the appropriate person/department.Assign pending documents into a patient’s chart within the EMR system.Other duties as assigned by managers and leads.Who you are:Qualifications:High school Diploma or equivalent.One year of medical experience.
