Embarc, LLC. in Sacramento seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end payroll for hourly, salaried, tipped, commissioned, and union employees across multiple California locations.

This hands-on role partners with Human Resources, Finance, Legal and Operations to ensure accurate, timely, compliant payroll, maintain records securely, resolve discrepancies, and support scalable growth in a fast-paced cannabis retail environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-location organization.
• Experience with unionized workforce and interpreting collective bargaining agreements.
• Knowledge of California wage and hour laws.
• Experience in cannabis or other regulated industries is a plus.
• Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Own and manage biweekly payroll across multiple California locations.
• Ensure accurate, timely payroll in compliance with policies and laws.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations.
• Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll questions and discrepancies.
• Prepare year-end payroll processes including W-2s and reporting.
