Job summary

Immatics is seeking a Calibration & Maintenance Technician II, 2nd shift, on-site at Stafford, TX. You will perform calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinate with service providers to ensure equipment reliability in GMP/non-GxP environments.

You will lead pipette calibration efforts, verify performance, and support commissioning/qualification activities while ensuring GDP/compliance and cross-functional collaboration across the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 7+ years in calibration, instrumentation, equipment maintenance, or a related field.
• Trade School Certificate with 3+ years related experience.
• Technical license in calibration, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, or maintenance with 3+ years related experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 2+ years related experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 1+ year related calibration/maintenance/engineering support experience.
• Hands-on experience using measurement/test equipment and calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting or repairs.
• Knowledge of GDP and ability to document work in paper/electronic systems.
• Ability to work off-hours or on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on lab, manufacturing, and facility equipment.
• Lead laboratory pipette calibration, verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Verify equipment performance against specs and document out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Coordinate with service providers for specialized repairs.
• Support equipment commissioning, qualification, installation, relocation, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Coordinate third-party calibration and maintenance vendors; manage scheduling and documentation.
• Collaborate with owners and cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and maintain readiness.
• Review calibration docs for accuracy and GDP/compliance.
• Provide support for deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls.
• Support continuous monitoring systems and alarm responses.

Role Overview

The Calibration & Maintenance Technician II, 2nd Shift is responsible for performing calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and equipment lifecycle support for laboratory, manufacturing, and facility equipment in both GxP and non-GxP environments. This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted site operations. The Technician II independently executes routine and non-routine maintenance activities, supports equipment commissioning and qualification efforts, coordinates vendor services, and partners closely with equipment owners across the organization. This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional who enjoys problem-solving, working cross-functionally, and contributing to a highly regulated biotechnology environment.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in calibration, instrumentation, equipment maintenance, or a closely related technical field; or
• Trade School Certificate or recognized technical certification in a relevant field with at least 3 years of directly related experience; or
• Valid technical license applicable to calibration, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, or maintenance work with at least 3 years of directly related experience; or
• Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline with at least 2 years of directly related experience; or
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 1 years of directly related calibration, instrumentation, equipment maintenance, or engineering support experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience using measurement and test equipment and performing calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair activities.
• Working knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and the ability to accurately document technical work in paper and electronic systems.
• Ability to safely perform the physical and environmental requirements of the position and to work required off-hours or on-call coverage based on operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing calibration and maintenance activities in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated GxP environment.
• Training, certification, or hands-on experience in pipette calibration and Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) certification/testing is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to independently organize assigned work, follow approved procedures, recognize abnormal conditions, and appropriately elevate technical or compliance concerns.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with equipment owners, service providers, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management or asset management systems; experience with Blue Mountain RAM is preferred.
• Experience with continuous monitoring systems; experience with Vaisala viewLinc is preferred.
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations, gowning requirements, and equipment cleaning or disinfection practices in controlled environments.
• Working knowledge of calibration principles such as measurement uncertainty, accuracy, tolerance, traceability, and Test Uncertainty Ratio/Test Accuracy Ratio concepts.
• Experience reviewing third-party calibration or service documentation and coordinating external service providers.
• Experience supporting equipment commissioning, qualification, validation, change control, deviation investigation, or CAPA activities.
• Ability to develop or revise calibration procedures, preventive maintenance work instructions, job plans, and related technical documentation.

In this role you will:

• Perform calibration, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on laboratory, manufacturing, and facility equipment.
• Serve as the primary technician for laboratory pipette calibration, verification, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
• Verify equipment performance against established specifications and identify, document, and elevate out-of-tolerance conditions or equipment issues.
• Diagnose equipment problems and coordinate with qualified service providers for specialized repairs when needed.
• Support equipment commissioning, qualification, installation, relocation, upgrades, and decommissioning activities.
• Coordinate third-party calibration and maintenance vendors, including scheduling, documentation review, and issue resolution.
• Partner with equipment owners and cross-functional teams to schedule work, minimize downtime, and maintain operational readiness.
• Review maintenance and calibration documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical support for deviations, investigations, change controls, CAPAs, and impact assessments.
• Support continuous monitoring systems, alarm response activities, and equipment-related troubleshooting.
• Maintain calibration standards, tools, spare parts, and materials required to support maintenance operations.
• Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with GMP requirements, safety standards, and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
