Job summary

Paris Baguette South Loop in Chicago seeks a Caker to support daily bakery operations, decorating and producing desserts while ensuring quality and safety in the store.

You will learn recipes, maintain a clean workstation, manage time effectively, and provide friendly service to customers. One year of relevant bakery experience is preferred and a Food Handler’s Certificate is required.

This role offers on-site work in a fast-paced environment with teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Food Handler’s Certificate Required
• One year of relevant experience preferred
• Confectionery/Foods major preferred

Responsibilities

• Scale, decorate and produce all desserts, pastries and cakes
• General knowledge of production methods and organization of confectionery production
• Learn new products and skills and demonstrate proper techniques to new cakers
• Sanitization procedures, maintaining overall cleanliness of workstation
• Must be able to manage time and remain organized
• Knowledge of all recipes and procedures of all production
• Ensure cake displays are presentable for customers
• Make creams and sauces for cakes and pastries
• Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas
• Inform supervisor when equipment not working properly and when food supplies are getting low
• Perform other related duties as assigned
