Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Sarasota, FL seeks a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, and pastries, including special-order items. Use artistic skills to finish high-quality bakery goods and uphold our standards of taste and presentation.

You will follow safety procedures, support team training, and deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a clean, organized work area and accurate production records.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience
• Passion for decorating cakes and pastries
• Ability to follow recipes and procedures
• Strong teamwork and communication

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products in the case; monitor freshness and rotation.
• Guide Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members.
• Create special-order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service; handle phones promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure signage accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
