Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator with artistic skills to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and custom orders. You will follow recipes and procedures to ensure quality, freshness, and visual appeal.

Responsibilities include decorating finished products, maintaining sanitation, assisting Apprentices, and providing friendly customer service in a fast-paced store environment. Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Bakery Decorator Apprentice training or equivalent experience.
• Experience in professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes and pastries.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure proper product rotation.
• Provide guidance for Apprentices and Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment and equipment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
