Job summary

Qualifications

• Retail experience is required.
• Bakery or cake-decorating experience is required.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Basic math skills for daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products.
• Respond to questions and suggest bakery items; prepare bakery items using proper equipment.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates and follow company guidelines.
• Label, stock, sign and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain awareness of store layout and locate products for customers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist with inventory control and loss prevention measures.
• Support store management in achieving sales goals and maintaining safety standards.
