You will answer questions, show product knowledge, decorate and prepare bakery items, and ensure freshness and proper labeling. Strong math, communication, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions; make suggestions.
• Prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell by dates and use equipment properly.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers; stay current with ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Follow safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and report repairs.
• Report safety risks or incidents including theft or fraud.
