Responsibilities

• Respond to questions and make product suggestions to customers.
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items by customer request using proper equipment.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Check product quality, monitor dates, and operate bakery equipment per guidelines.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
• Adhere to health, safety and food safety regulations.
• Reinforce safety programs and identify unsafe conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and report repairs.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity, including theft or accidents.
