Job summary

Qualifications

• Retail experience preferred.
• Bakery or cake decorating experience preferred.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Effective communication skills.
• Second language abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions about bakery items.
• Know products in the department to answer questions and make suggestions.
• Offer product samples; prepare bakery items such as wedding cakes using proper equipment.
• Recommend bakery items to ensure customers get what they want and need.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and store policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area.
