Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Bakery Department Associate to deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced grocery setting. You will assist customers, decorate items, prepare bakery products and keep the department clean and organized.

The role involves labeling, stocking, and inventory tasks, following safety and health regulations, and supporting management to achieve sales goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and teammates.
• Basic math and money-handling aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions; make suggestions.
• Offer product samples and prepare bakery items per customer requests.
• Recommend bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
• Check product quality, monitor sell-by dates, and operate bakery equipment as directed.
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies and other bakery items.
• Label, stock, sign, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Navigate store layout to locate products for customers; stay updated on ads.
• Maintain awareness of inventory levels and note discrepancies.
• Adhere to health, safety, and civil code regulations.
• Follow merchandising, customer service, labor, safety and loss-prevention rules.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report items needing repair.
• Report safety risks and suspicious activity as required.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
