Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator Apprentice to assemble, decorate, and finish cakes, tarts, and bakery items. The role includes prioritizing production, maintaining records, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will train under the Bakery Decorator Apprentice program and gain hands-on experience in decorating techniques, color coordination, and safe tool handling. Flexible schedule and on-site work are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures; maintain production records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle calls promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work and shopping environment.
