Job summary

The GIANT Company in Harrisburg, PA is seeking bakery team members to support daily store bakery operations and delight customers with freshly prepared goods.

You will mix and frost cakes, color and decorate, take and complete orders, store items in the bakery cooler, and maintain strict cleaning and food-safety standards. A 60-day introductory period, reliable attendance, and ability to stand for long periods are required. Shifts may include early mornings and afternoons.

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Ability to read, write, and communicate to perform duties and follow policies
• Complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements
• Able to use or learn to use the equipment and tools used for this job
• Must perform all job functions safely
• Meet performance standards including regular attendance
• Wear proper assigned clothes and shoes

Responsibilities

• Review work schedule at the start of the shift, check required equipment and PPE, and prepare for duties.
• Mix frosting, color frosting, make cones, load cones, frost cakes, and decorate cakes with colored frosting.
• Take orders, complete orders, and store orders in the bakery cooler.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, display cases, floors and counters.
• Track and record loss.
• Demonstrate proper food safety and sanitation work habits.
