Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator in Allentown to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items with artistic flair. You will ensure quality, presentation, and consistency across all bakery goods while upholding safety standards.

You will train and mentor Apprentices, assist with production planning, and provide outstanding service to customers with a friendly, helpful approach. A flexible schedule including nights and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items per standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case and monitor freshness.
• Provide guidance for Apprentices and other team members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties and ensure accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
