Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Wayne, PA is seeking a Bakery Decorator to craft and decorate cakes, tarts and pastries, including special orders. You will apply artistic decorating skills while upholding our quality standards and food-safety procedures.

You will support Bakery Decorator Apprentices and team members, manage production lists, and ensure fresh merchandising. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and adherence to company programs and standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6-12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Prior bakery/grocery retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures and keep records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products; ensure freshness and proper rotation in display.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and team members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain helpful attitude.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and follow safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties including signage accuracy.
• Handle other duties as assigned.
