Job summary

Hook & Reel, a Cajun seafood restaurant brand, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help the kitchen run smoothly in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. You will be instrumental in creating a smooth and enjoyable dining experience while working as part of a vibrant team.

Prior kitchen experience is not required but preferred. The role involves standing for 8–10 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working flexibility including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience not required, but preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (8-10 hours per shift).
• Lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Hook & Reel's standards.
• Assist in food preparation and ensure ingredients are fresh and ready for service.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times.
• Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate timely service.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed.
• Manage time to ensure dishes are prepared and ready for use.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork and collaboration.
• Assist with opening/closing tasks and allergy order communications.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, hospitality-focused attitude.
