Job summary

Union County Public Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant Manager at Forest Hills High School to assist the Cafeteria Manager and lead student meal operations. This role includes supervisory duties in the manager's absence and supporting events, catering, and daily cafeteria activities.

The position emphasizes leadership, coordination with school staff, and involvement in financial and inventory tasks within a 9-month, non-exempt schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to subordinates through instruction and demonstration.
• Direct the day to day activities in the absence of the manager.
• Fill in for managers or employees at other schools when necessary.
• Work with administration and staff for special events and catering.
• Assist in food preparation and cafeteria maintenance.
• Communicate positively with school staff, students, parents and visitors.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting financial information, food ordering, inventories of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in developing marketing strategies to increase participation and sales.
• Assume any responsibilities as assigned by cafeteria manager.
