Job summary

Union County Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Manager for Forest Hills High School in Marshville, NC. In this 9-month, non-exempt position you will assist the Cafeteria Manager, lead staff, and ensure smooth daily operations in the cafeteria.

You will coordinate food preparation, participate in events and catering, and communicate with staff, students, parents and visitors while maintaining quality service and accuracy in financial and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in school nutrition preferred.
• Leadership ability and skills in directing people are essential.
• Formal education preferred - technical training or college level.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to subordinates through instruction and demonstration.
• Direct the day to day activities in the absence of the manager.
• Fill in for managers or employees at other schools when necessary.
• Work with administration and staff for special events and catering.
• Assist in food preparation and cafeteria maintenance.
• Communicate positively with school staff, students, parents and visitors.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting financial information, food ordering, inventories of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in developing marketing strategies to increase participation and sales.
• Assume any responsibilities as assigned by cafeteria manager.
