Union County Public Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant Manager to support the Cafeteria Manager, lead cafeteria staff, and step in during absences. This role focuses on daily operations, food preparation, and coordinating with school administration on events and catering.

The position emphasizes supervisory skills, attention to inventories, and efforts to boost participation and sales through marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Leadership ability essential.
• Experience working with staff and directing people is preferred.
• Courses or training in nutrition or related areas are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to subordinates through instruction and demonstration.
• Direct the day to day activities in the absence of the manager.
• Fill in for managers or employees at other schools when necessary.
• Work with administration and staff for special events and catering.
• Assist in food preparation and cafeteria maintenance.
• Communicate positively with school staff, students, parents and visitors.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting financial information, food ordering, inventories of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Assist in developing marketing strategies to increase participation and sales.
• Assume any responsibilities as assigned by cafeteria manager.
