Job summary

Baltimore County Public Schools seeks an Essential-As-Needed Cafeteria Manager substitute to cover for routine and emergency vacancies across BCPS kitchen locations. You will oversee base complex food service operations, ensure compliance with Food and Nutrition Services policies, and communicate effectively with staff to maintain service quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience in food service; 1 year supervisory experience.
• Completion of BCPS Manager/POS Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate food service policies to staff and liaise with central office staff.
• Manage labor scheduling and daily duties to maximize labor pool.
• Provide on-the-job training and staff enrichment programs to ensure quality meals.
• Ensure HACCP compliance and maintain food storage and inventory controls.
• Oversee cash handling, daily cash receipts, deposits, and reconcile discrepancies.
