Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring for a cafeteria food service role in the Worcester area. The position involves assembling, portioning, labeling and restocking foods for cafeteria services, and providing hospitable service to customers.

It requires basic education and ability to follow standardized procedures. Responsibilities include setting up serving areas, preparing foods, checking temperatures, and assisting in training other staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Understands basic weights and measures.
• Understands basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to stoop and lift 30 pounds and push and pull 300 pounds.
• Employees must be at least 18 years of age to perform this role.

Responsibilities

• Prepares area for food serving, sets up steam tables and service areas with hot items, salads, desserts and breakfast items.
• Prepares and portions salads and desserts and slices meats for deli items.
• Replenishes food items as necessary and monitors food safety and temperatures.
