Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Food Service Worker for the campus cafeteria on a mixed shift. This on-site role supports patient and public dining with attention to quality and safety.

You will assemble, portion, label and restock foods, serve customers in a courteous manner, monitor temperatures, inform production when items run low, stock supplies, and help keep the cafeteria clean and organized during service.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Understands basic weights and measures.
• Understands basic mathematical functions.

Responsibilities

• Prepares area for food serving and sets up steam tables and service areas with hot food items, salads, desserts, fruits, breakfast foods, etc.
• Serves food in prescribed quantities according to food service standards.
• Takes temperatures before and during meal service.
• Informs production if a menu item is running low.
• Stocks cold supply before, during and after each meal service.
• Performs necessary cleanup duties after meals and stores food safely.
