Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is recruiting for a Production Assistant at the University campus in Worcester, MA. This part-time, on-site role requires weekend availability with shifts from 5:00am-1:30pm or 9:00am-6:30pm, totaling 16 hours weekly. The position handles food prep, cold and limited hot foods, and support for desserts and garnishes.

Starting pay range is $17.90–$33.22 per hour, non-exempt, with potential signing bonus discussed at interview. Union UFCW; cost center Food Services Kitchen.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral and written directions.
• Requires simple use of formulas and adjustable measuring instruments.
• Over 3 and up to 6 months training.
• Food production or food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares cold foods and limited hot foods as directed.
• Assists in the preparation of supplements and other nourishments as instructed.
• Washes and prepares vegetables; slices meats and cheeses using equipment.
• Maintains sanitation and proper working environment in area of responsibility.
• Operates and maintains food preparation equipment.
• Communicates with supervisor regarding duties and supplies.
• Participates in other food service functions as directed.
