Job summary

Meriwether Godsey is seeking a Full-time Food Service Associate at a private school in Norfolk, VA. The role runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and involves greeting customers, handling transactions, and transporting food and supplies to the cafeteria.

You will assist in meal service, portioning, and keeping service areas tidy. The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent, strong communication and organizational skills, and flexibility to switch locations and

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner.
• Transport food and supplies to the cafeteria: assist in the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep dining room areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods.
• Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of another kitchen area by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.
