Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is hiring at the Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR. The role offers a $17.20 hourly wage, full-time schedule (8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Mon–Fri), and opportunities to support youth programs as part of the dining services team.

Responsibilities include food preparation, service line setup, beverage preparation and daily sanitation, with duties expanding to inventory and storage tasks. ServSafe certification is required, and lifting up to 20 lbs is expected.

Qualifications

• Must possess a ServSafe (Food Handler) certification.
• Able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
• A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record required.

• Replenish napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments.
• Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line.
• Assist in storage and inventory of supplies; transfer ingredients from storage to cooking area.
• Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Prepare vegetables, salads, meats, breads and desserts as instructed, and keep units clean.

What you will be doing:

Essential Functions

• Prepare vegetables, salads, meat, bread, and desserts as instructed or routinely set forth in an appetizing manner.
• Perform clean-up and sanitation duties by washing dishes/utensils, store in orderly fashion.
• Assist with food preparation and service area daily which includes keeping refrigerators, floors, and food carts clean.
• Perform cooking duties as needed.

Education And Experience Requirements
