Job summary

Management & Training Corporation operates the Charleston Point Job Corps Center in Charleston, WV, and seeks a full-time cafeteria cook to prepare meals for students in compliance with government and management directives.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, ServSafe certification (or within 30 days), and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with 8-hour shifts from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm and a varied schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess a current ServSafe certification or within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, salads, meats, bread and desserts as instructed and routinely set forth in an appetizing, eye-appealing meal.
• Prepare meats for cooking by washing, trimming, boning, cutting, cubing or forming into patties or loaves.
• Cook or bake items which require minimum preparation.
• Replenishing napkin dispensers, plate racks, silverware racks, salt and pepper shakers and condiments.
• Make coffee, tea and other beverages and set up cafeteria lines and serve meals on the line.
• Assist in the storage and inventory of supplies; transfer food ingredients from storage area to cooking area. Clean food service area, tables and kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition, and ensure the work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
