Job summary

Grand Central Bakery’s Café Team Member role is an integral part of our vibrant cafe environment. You will deliver delicious products, assist customers, and uphold our mission, vision, and values while following the 3 Steps to Great Service.

The position is part-time, with schedule flexibility including weekends, and requires proficiency with POS systems and cash handling. The role reports to the Café Manager and involves working across openings, closings, sandwich bar, pastry baking, and prep.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English required.
• Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card at all times.
• Regular attendance and punctuality required.
• Ability to add, subtract, and perform basic math with ease.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to interact with customers for a full shift in a busy environment.
• Food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers outstanding customer service—follows the 3 Steps to Great Service at all times.
• Works at all stations and shifts for which trained; openings/closings, sandwich bar, pastry, prep, and baking.
• Supports training of team members and helps create a welcoming environment.
• Uses POS, R365, and KDS; assists with orders as needed.
• Follows safety rules, maintains cleanliness, and reports hazards or injuries promptly.
