Job summary

Continental Services is seeking an Operations Supervisor for GMT Cole Cafe at GM Tech to lead daily cafe operations and coordinate onsite catering events. Responsibilities include supervising staff, inventory, ordering, scheduling and ensuring quality, safety, and client relations.

The candidate should have 2+ years in a leadership role in food service, culinary training or equivalent, knowledge of health/sanitation laws, and Serv-Safe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• College/culinary training OR extensive cooking and production experience.
• A minimum of 2+ years working in a leadership role in the food service industry.
• Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.
• Awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws.
• Serv-Safe Certified strongly preferred.
• Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration, slicer, knives, and dish machine.
• Past experience and knowledge in online food ordering, weekly inventory, P&L, union contracts, catering and client relations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares daily production list.
• Ensures that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period.
• Responsible for end of day deposits and counting of drawers.
• Verifies that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly.
• Keeps kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organized.
• Places food and supply orders as directed.
• Receives product by verifying invoice and freshness of merchandise.
• Trains employees to company standards.
• Sets excellent customer service and work examples.
• Actively participates as a member of the management team.
• Manages staffing levels throughout shift.
• Oversees kitchen labor and food cost to budgetary requirements.
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the GM or client at any time.
