Job summary

The Mather in Evanston, IL, is seeking a Café & Bar Attendant to deliver pleasure-focused dining experiences for residents, family members, guests, and staff. You will ensure sanitary standards, multi-task efficiently, and contribute to a smooth-running dining environment.

This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–8:00 PM, with weekend availability as needed. Hourly pay ranges from $19 to $21, with comprehensive benefits supporting team members.

Qualifications

• Illinois Food Handlers and TIPS/BASSETT certification required prior to start.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem-solve.

Responsibilities

• Greet residents and guests warmly.
• Accurate order taking and food/beverage service.
• Describe menu items and offer recommendations.
• Operate espresso machine and ensure quality beverages.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic cocktails.
• Provide table service and handle POS transactions.
• Retrieve ingredients and prepare items for service.
• Close out checks via POS system.
• Maintain neat appearance in Georgian Lounge.
• Bus and set tables according to standards.
• Collaborate effectively with residents, peers, and managers.
