Job summary

Sightglass Coffee Roasters is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Berkeley, CA. The role supports the Store Manager across shifts, stepping in as acting manager as needed, and leading staff to maintain customer focus and operating efficiency.

You will coach and develop team members, manage inventory and cash handling, and ensure adherence to product and service standards while delivering exceptional hospitality.

Qualifications

• Full-time employee (30-40 hours per week)
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for coffee, food and beverage
• Ability to work efficiently in a team
• Excellent customer service and professionalism
• Organized and methodical work style
• Possession of ServSafe Food Handler's card or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Maintain shift flow by delegating tasks and focusing on customer support.
• Communicate staff difficulties, triumphs, and feedback to the Store Manager.
• Educate staff and customers on current product offerings including beans, drinks, food, and merchandise.
• Uphold Sightglass product and service standards and cash handling procedures.
• Assist in hiring and recruitment, including leading interviews.
• Manage inventory and conduct monthly counts.
