Job summary

Peet’s Coffee is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Berkeley to join a bold, people-first leadership team. You will support the Store Manager in achieving sales and service goals while developing a strong, engaged team that delivers exceptional customer experiences.

This developmental role targets readiness for store management within 12–18 months. You’ll lead with coaching, monitor operations, and assist in staffing, inventory control, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years management/supervisory experience in service or food industry.
• Assistant Store Managers must maintain open availability and work 40 hours per week.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and be at least 18 years old.
• Compliance with Peet's Employment of Minors policies and scheduling guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager in achieving financial and operational goals by driving sales and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Coach and develop team members with regular feedback and performance reviews.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
• Oversee daily coffeebar operations, inventory, cash handling, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
