Job summary

Cafe Flor, a busy NYC café, seeks an organized Operations & Events Manager to oversee daily café operations, coordinate private events, and lead a team of baristas, bartenders, and service staff. You will manage payroll reporting, scheduling, and vendor relations while ensuring top-notch guest experiences.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in GM or senior roles in café/restaurant settings, strong P&L and budget skills, and knowledge of coffee and cocktails.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a General Manager or senior management role in a café, bar, or restaurant setting.
• Proven track record of managing P&L, budgets, and cost controls.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee, craft cocktails, and food & beverage operations.
• Experience hiring, training, and leading teams in a high-volume environment.
• Familiarity with NYC health department regulations and liquor licensing requirements.

About the Role:

Cafe Flor is seeking a highly organized, customer-focused Café Operations & Events Manager to oversee daily café operations, coordinate private events, manage staff scheduling and payroll reporting, and provide exceptional service as both a barista and bartender. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all daily front-of-house and back-of-house café and bar operations
• Hire, train, schedule, and develop a high-performing team of baristas, bartenders, and service staff
• Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships for both food and beverage programs
• Drive revenue growth through upselling strategies, menu development, and exceptional guest experience
• Monitor and manage P&L, labor costs, and overall budget performance
• Ensure compliance with NYC health codes, liquor licensing regulations, and food safety standards
