Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a highly skilled Intelligent Modeling Coordinator to support transit and multimodal projects. You will lead cross-discipline coordination, ensure model integrity, and enforce BIM standards across offices, aligning with DOT design criteria.

The role requires extensive CADD drafting experience, Autodesk/Navisworks expertise, and the ability to mentor staff while coordinating with clients and agencies. Travel to various US offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on duties and project demands.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Cross-discipline coordination — coordinate intelligent models across architecture, vertical structures, transportation structures, roadway design, and MEP into a single federated, clash-checked model throughout the project lifecycle.
• Model coordination & clash detection — run clash detection in Navisworks and lead resolution across disciplines.
• Standards & governance — establish, document, and enforce CADD/BIM standards, templates, and workflows across offices on Autodesk stack.
• Mentorship & guidance — mentor production staff and provide design sketches for finished drawings.
• Interfaces with clients, agencies, and subconsultants on model deliverable requirements and data handoff standards.
• Performs other duties as required.
