Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Drafting Intern in Columbus, OH to revise drawings and prepare drawings of basic components from explicit instructions and sketches. The role learns drafting standards and collaborates with the Transmission & Distribution group on design tasks.

Qualifications include pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD/Engineering tech, a minimum 3.0 GPA, effective communication skills, and willingness to learn. Full-time schedule, travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of certificate, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in CAD/Engineering tech.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner.

Responsibilities

• Revising existing drawings and preparing drawings of basic components from explicit verbal or written instructions or detailed sketches.
• Learns and follows company and client drafting standards and procedures; learns practices of a selected discipline.

Education

Pursuit of certificate, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related degree.
