Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Columbus, OH. You will assist senior engineers with design tasks, data collection, and presentations while gaining exposure to Transmission & Distribution projects and broader engineering activities.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET preferred), strong communication, problem solving, and a proactive learning mindset. This internship may involve varied assignments and campus/community involvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow within the field.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the country where located.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions and recommend outcomes to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies.
