Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Drafting Intern in Houston to revise existing drawings and prepare basic component drawings from instructions or sketches. Interns plot drawings and learn drafting standards while supporting project tasks across market segments.

The role emphasizes developing CAD skills, following company procedures, and gaining exposure to Oil, Gas, Chemical or Transmission & Distribution project work. Strong communication and initiative are valued.

Qualifications

• Pursuing certificate, associate's or bachelor's degree in drafting/engineering tech or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education or technical program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Revise existing drawings and prepare drawings of basic components from instructions or sketches.
• Plot drawings and ensure compliance with company and client drafting standards.
• Assist in learning practices of a selected discipline and support project tasks.
