Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator IV at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, to support RTC Test and Engineering Services for the Army Division. This full-time role requires strong 3D CAD skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

You will develop mechanical systems in SolidWorks, prepare specifications and project documentation, and oversee projects from concept through final release, aligning with RTC standards.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of CAD experience with 3D CAD tools.
• Must have vocational training in electrical/mechanical drafting.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical systems and components using SolidWorks.
• Create documentation: specs, assembly guides, project reports.
• Oversee projects from concept to final release.
• Contribute in design reviews with solutions-focused feedback.
• Monitor trends to recommend new methods and tools.
