Job summary

SAIC in Indiana is seeking a drafting support specialist to assist NSWC Crane teams with creating and updating Technical Data Packages using Solid Edge. You will produce detailed drawings and communicate with engineers, technicians, and customers to capture design intent.

Applicants should have an AS/BS in a related field (or HS diploma with 3+ years of experience) and hands-on CAD experience; familiarity with ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 and related standards is preferred; DoD Secret Clearance

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in related field; or HS diploma with minimum 3 years related experience.
• Experience with Solid Edge; 3D CAD software required.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Description

This position will provide drafting and documentation support for NSWC Crane. In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Packages using Solid Edge Software, operator must be proficient with using 3d parametric software. One must have the ability to communicate effectively and able to complete professional correspondence.

JOB DUTIES:

• Creates and modifies detailed drawings using Solid Edge CAD Software.
• Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design.
• Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation.
• Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• An AS or BS Degree in related field; Or, High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
• Experienced with Solid Edge (desired), but experience using 3D CAD software required.
• Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures.
• Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas.
• Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction.
• Knowledge of: ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 an associated Drawing Standards, Technical Data Packages, and Military Standards (preferred).
• Must be able to obtain/maintain full DoD Secret Clearance.

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
