Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a CAD Designer I in Denver to support our mechanical engineering team with SolidWorks drawings, models, and accompanying documentation. You will ensure designs meet program requirements and create precise drawings with proper tolerances.

You will wear many hats in a small, startup-like environment, collaborating across teams to manage CAD data, review changes, and contribute to aerospace hardware development.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical degree in CAD or related engineering field.
• Minimum 1 year of CAD experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience generating/modifying models, drawings and documentation.
• Ability to read schematics and product specifications.
• Familiar with MS Teams, Confluence and Jira.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide CAD drawing support (SolidWorks drawings) throughout product development.
• Generate or modify models, drawings and documentation.
• Identify problems in CAD designs and provide corrective actions.
• Manage mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (SolidWorks PDM).
