Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Denver is seeking a Drafting Intern to assist in revising drawings and preparing drawings of basic components from instructions or sketches. The role supports plotting drawings and learning drafting standards across multiple market segments, with emphasis on the Power group.

This internship offers exposure to a consulting environment, development of communication and analytical skills, and opportunities to grow within the field. Travel up to 5% is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of CAD/Engineering degree or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow in the field.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Revise existing drawings and prepare basic component drawings from instructions or sketches.
• Plot drawings and ensure compliance with drafting standards.
• Learn practices of a selected discipline and assist project teams.
• Support project work across market segments as assigned.
