Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Drafting Intern to revise existing drawings and prepare new drawings of basic components from explicit instructions or sketches. This internship provides hands-on experience with company drafting standards and client procedures across multiple market segments.

Primary location US-MO-Kansas City, full-time internship with travel up to 5%. Interns gain exposure to Oil, Gas & Chemical and Transmission & Distribution groups, with opportunities to

Qualifications

• Pursuit of certificate, Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in CAD, Engineering Tech, or related field.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education/technical program in a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn and grow in the field.

Responsibilities

• Revise existing drawings and prepare drawings of basic components from explicit verbal/written instructions or detailed sketches.
• Plot drawings and learn/follow company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Learn practices of a selected discipline and support project work across multiple market segments.
