Job summary

Career Systems Development Corporation is seeking an instructor to teach cabling fundamentals and mentor students in a classroom setting in Ottumwa, IA. You will lead lessons on copper and fiber optic installation, assess student progress, and help guide graduates toward career placements.

Qualifications

Candidates must be state certified or willing to get certified.
Hands-on experience with copper and fiber optic installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of cabling systems (twisted pair, coaxial, residential/commercial wiring).
Familiarity with tools, connectors, cable testing, and hardware installation.

Responsibilities

Teach installation & troubleshooting of coaxial, twisted pair, and fiber optic systems.
Follow Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) & National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
Maintain a structured, disciplined classroom.
Track attendance and student records.
Prepare lessons and use available curriculum resources.
Maintain classroom equipment, safety, and cleanliness.
Support student job placement through employer outreach.
