Job summary

Per Scholas, a national tech training nonprofit, is seeking an industry-experienced Low-Voltage Fiber Technician Instructor to train entry-level learners across fiber, copper, and cabling in in-person labs and simulations.

You'll lead hands-on labs, prep learners for CFOT/FOA exams, integrate ITSM concepts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with employer expectations. OSHA 10/NFPA70E are part of safety foundations.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching adults in technical subjects.
• Strong safety mindset with OSHA NFPA familiarity and field lab experience.
• CFOT certification preferred; onboarding path available.
• Proficient with learning platforms (Canvas LMS) and learner records (Salesforce).
• Willingness to obtain CFOT within onboarding timeline.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructor-led training for low-voltage and fiber topics with hands-on labs.
• Lead labs on copper/fiber installation, testing, labeling, and documentation.
• Prepare learners for CFOT exam and OSHA/NFPA safety standards.
• Align sessions with real-world jobsite practices and employer expectations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine materials and assessments.
